The Edo State Police Command has arrested a 50-year-old prophet, Nicholas Nusa, over the alleged abduction of five girls in Akoko-Edo Local Government Area of the state. Nusa, who is the overseer of Divine Grace Church located along Imoga Road in Ibillo, is also accused of impregnating one of the girls, identified as a 15-year-old. The Lagos State Government has directed residents living in low-lying and flood-prone communities to move to safer, higher ground following a fresh seven-day flood alert issued by the Nigerian Hydrological Services Agency (NiHSA). At least nine people have been killed in separate attacks across Barkin Ladi, Riyom and neighbouring communities in Plateau State between Saturday night and Sunday morning, triggering fresh tension among residents.
