Six people have been killed and two others injured in a road crash along the Kabba–Odo-Ape Road in Kabba-Bunu Local Government Area of Kogi State. The fatal accident occurred on Saturday and involved a truck and a commercial vehicle, according to the Kogi State Sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps, Lawal Fagge. The Benue State Police Command has rescued eight more passengers abducted by suspected kidnappers along the Ankpenchi-Ogobia road in Ohimini Local Government Area of the state. Codenamed Operation Shams II, the five-day operation was coordinated by the International Criminal Police Organisation, INTERPOL, in Tunis, Tunisia, from June 1 to 5, 2026.
