Four people have been killed and at least 20 others injured after a middle school student opened fire at a school in Kahramanmaras, authorities have confirmed.
The incident occurred on Wednesday in the southeastern Turkish province, with Governor Mukerrem Unluer stating that a teacher was among those killed in the attack.
According to the governor, the gunman, identified as a student of the school, carried out the shooting using weapons belonging to his father, which were concealed in a backpack. The attacker also died during the incident.
Emergency responders attended to the wounded, who were taken to nearby medical facilities for treatment.
Authorities have not yet released further details on the motive behind the attack, as investigations continue into the circumstances surrounding the shooting.
