Nollywood actress and producer Bimbo Ademoye has released her much-anticipated romantic comedy, My 30th Wedding, following an elaborate promotional campaign that briefly sparked speculation that she and fellow actor Timini Egbuson were getting married.
The film premiered on Thursday, October 1, 2026, on Ademoye’s YouTube channel, BimboAdemoyeTV, where she had earlier announced the project as a feel-good love story.
The release came after Ademoye and Egbuson flooded social media with photographs and videos styled as pre-wedding content, prompting some fans to believe that the actors had taken their relationship beyond the screen.
The speculation intensified after the pair appeared in coordinated outfits and romantic wedding-themed images. However, Ademoye and Egbuson subsequently clarified that the photographs were part of the promotional campaign for My 30th Wedding, rather than an announcement of an actual engagement or wedding.
Ahead of the premiere, Ademoye described the production as a “feel good” love movie and encouraged her followers to look forward to an emotional experience.
The film centres on love, marriage and the pressures surrounding romantic relationships, with its storyline exploring the complications that can arise when personal expectations, family pressures, social class and individual flaws collide.
Ademoye plays Elamosi Ogbeta, while Egbuson portrays Lekan Wellington. The cast also includes Bryan Okoye, popularly known as Bryan Boomba, as Osaze, alongside Patrick Doyle, Gloria Anozie-Young, Biola Kareem, Wole Olayinka, Darasimi Ogbetah and other actors.
The storyline follows Elamosi as she navigates relationships, family expectations and the search for lasting love. As the characters move closer to marriage, their personal insecurities and differences create situations that combine romance, humour and emotional conflict.
The film’s promotional campaign had itself become part of the attraction, with the apparent wedding between Ademoye and Egbuson generating widespread online discussion before the actual nature of the images was revealed.
The production also received attention for its promotional teasers, including one featuring Bryan Okoye in a vintage-style salon setting. Early promotional materials initially gave the impression that the film might be set in an earlier era, although Ademoye later clarified that the movie was not a period production.
For Ademoye, My 30th Wedding adds to a growing body of work that has established her as one of the prominent younger faces in Nollywood.
She won the Best Actress in a Comedy (Movie/TV Series) award at the 2023 Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards for her performance in Selina. The official Africa Magic winners’ list confirms Ademoye’s victory in the category.
Her collaboration with Egbuson has also generated considerable interest, with the pair’s on-screen chemistry and social-media interactions frequently drawing attention from fans.
With My 30th Wedding now available on BimboAdemoyeTV, the elaborate wedding-themed campaign has ultimately been revealed as a creative promotional strategy for a story that turns its focus to love, commitment, family expectations and the complexities of modern relationships.
