Popular Nigerian skit maker and content creator, Carter Efe, has reportedly lost his official TikTok account with more than 5.6 million followers following repeated violations of the platform’s community guidelines.

TikTok confirmed the permanent suspension of the account on Wednesday, citing multiple breaches of its policies.

The ban means Efe has lost access to his major short-form video platform, where he had built a huge following through comedy skits, music-related content, and live broadcasts.

The development has sparked reactions across social media, with fans and other users expressing surprise over the suspension and questioning what led to the permanent removal of an account with millions of followers.

Several users took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to react to the development.

One user, @Olamide0fficial, wrote: “Losing an account that took you years to build is one of the hardest things ever; hopefully, he gets the account back.”

Another user, @blaccmajek, criticised the platform, writing: “Stupid app. There’s nobody they can’t suspend.”

@abazwhyllzz also urged fans to support the content creator following the loss of his 5.6 million-follower platform.

Meanwhile, @DarealTerancez speculated that the account may have been reported by people who disliked the creator, writing: “I know it’s the haters reporting his account.”

Another user, @the1reallfash, questioned the reason for the suspension, asking: “Permanently banned?!! What did bro do??”

@Samuel_Fasuyan suggested that Efe’s activities during live broadcasts may have contributed to the action, writing: “I believe it might be due to his being overly aggressive on live streams.”

Other reactions ranged from sympathy to criticism, with some users arguing that the creator had previously received warnings and should have been more cautious about the platform’s rules.

Despite losing his official TikTok account, Efe continues to engage with his audience through other social media platforms.

The content creator rose to wider national prominence in 2022 following the success of his hit song featuring Berri Tiga. He has since expanded his digital presence and become a prominent live streamer on Twitch.

The suspension also highlights the risks faced by digital creators who depend heavily on third-party social media platforms for audience growth, particularly when account restrictions can result in the sudden loss of millions of followers and years of accumulated content.
