Eight persons, including six oil workers and two crew members, are feared dead when an Eastwind Aviation and Logistics Services Limited helicopter crashed into the Atlantic Ocean on Thursday morning. By Deborah Nnamdi An Ikeja Chief Magistrates’ Court, on Thursday, ordered the remand in custody of 32-year-old Waheed Ibrahim for allegedly defiling a four-year-old girl. Ibrahim appeared before Chief Magistrate E. Kubeinje on a one-count charge of defilement. The Prosecutor, Insp John Iberedem, told the court that the defendant committed the offence against the girl on September 3, at 27 Adeba Street, Igbeju-Lekki, Lagos. Iberedem said that Ibrahim defiled the four-year-old girl by inserting his finger into her vagina. The prosecutor said the offence contravened Section 261 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015. The Rivers State Police Command says its operatives have apprehended three notorious kidnappers who have been terrorising travellers and motorists along the Port Harcourt-Owerri highway.
