The National Examinations Council has released the results of the 2025 Senior School Certificate Examination for external candidates, with 71.63 per cent of candidates obtaining five credits and above, including English Language and Mathematics. Announcing the results on Tuesday, the Registrar and Chief Executive of NECO, Prof. Danlami Wushishi, said a total of 96,979 candidates registered for the examination across the country. Of this number, 95,160 candidates eventually sat for the examination, comprising 50,785 males and 44,375 females. A chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party, Tony Ehilebo, has alleged that the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, is the main architect of the lingering crisis rocking the opposition party. The Ebonyi State Police Command has arrested the Coordinator of Amasiri Development Centre in Afikpo Local Government Area, Anya Baron-Ogbonnia, alongside two traditional rulers, in connection with the recent deadly attack in Okporojo community, Edda Local Government Area of the state. The Nigeria Immigration Service has cautioned job seekers against fraudulent recruitment portals falsely claiming to be hiring on behalf of the agency. In a public advisory shared on its official X page, the service said it had noticed a rise in fake websites and online adverts misleading applicants with bogus recruitment offers. The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has brought a suspected fake investment promoter before the Federal High Court in Uyo over an alleged fraud involving more than $525,000 from foreign investors.
