The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has announced the temporary closure of its portal for uploading the 2025 West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) results.

This action is intended to resolve technical issues affecting candidates who had earlier uploaded the initially released results.

In a statement posted on X (formerly Twitter), JAMB explained:

“Attention, Dear Candidates, Kindly be aware that the temporary closure of the portal for the 2025 WASSCE result upload is to address the issue with those who had previously uploaded the initially-released WASSCE result.”

The board assured affected candidates that the issue is being addressed and they will be notified when the portal reopens for re-uploading.

“Please be patient while our technical crew works on the portal. You will be contacted shortly to upload your result. Thank you.”

This temporary suspension affects candidates seeking admission for the 2024/2025 academic session who are required to upload WASSCE results as part of the admission process. The move is aimed at ensuring data accuracy and eliminating discrepancies in the admission database.

JAMB’s decision comes amid similar actions by other examination bodies in Nigeria. Recently, WAEC suspended access to its result checker on August 6 following the detection of technical bugs linked to subject serialization in core papers like Mathematics, English, Biology, and Economics.

Similarly, NECO shut down its examination portals nationwide for scheduled maintenance, following earlier unplanned downtimes that disrupted result checks, registrations, and verification processes—delays that also impacted some international applications.
