Mobile Phone Frauds Decline During Period Fraudsters stole over N42 billion from 28 banks in Nigeria from April to June this year, according to a report by the Financial Institution Training Centre, FITC, at the weekend. The report said the funds lost to fraudsters increased by an astronomical nearly 9,000 per cent from N9.4bn in the entire 2023 to N42bn in just those three months of this year. Beneficiaries of the student loan scheme under the Nigeria Education Loan Fund, have asked the Federal Government to increase the monthly stipends paid to them from N20,000 to N40,000 monthly. Gun shoots rent the air in Aboluma area of Port Harcourt on Saturday, as armed youths took over an election into offices of the Ijaw Youth Council, IYC, in the Eastern Zone. Nigerians are hoping for a crash in petrol prices as the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited and independent markets commence lifting of petrol products from Dangote Refinery.
