No fewer than seven policemen were shot during a violent communal clash between residents of Ido-Ijesa and Esa-Oke in Osun State, following the appointment of a new monarch for the Ido-Ajegunle community by Governor Ademola Adeleke. This was disclosed by the special adviser on energy, Olu Verheijen in a statement reported by Bloomberg. She noted that improved security around oil production and transportation sites is the key factor that supports the increase in output.
