Violent clashes have led to the death of no fewer than 24 persons in various parts of Edo State. The first set of deaths occurred at the Gbelemotin community in Ovia South-West Local Government Area of the state, when farmers and produce thieves clashed. The Interior Ministry spokesman, Abdul Mateen Qaniee, made this known on Tuesday.Qaniee said women and children were among them, adding that another five suffered injuries. According to him, the families had gone for a picnic in Kojar village in Pushtkoh district, adding that they were climbing a mountain when heavy rain and hailstorms hit them. Oleru, a member of a larger debit card fraud syndicate, was arrested following a police manhunt.
