Fear of petroleum scarcity hit Onitsha and other parts of Anambra State on Wednesday, following a 21-day strike notice by the Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria (IPMAN). The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has announced that it will reschedule the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) for 379,997 candidates who experienced technical disruptions during the 2025 exam. According to JAMB Registrar, Prof. Is-haq Oloyede, the glitches affected a total of 157 examination centres across Lagos and five South-Eastern states. In Lagos alone, 206,610 candidates across 65 centres were impacted. Meanwhile, the Owerri zone, which includes the South-East states, recorded 173,387 affected candidates in 92 centres.
