Airtel Africa has announced the retirement of its Senior Independent Non-Executive Director, Andrew Green, effective January 29, 2026, after more than six years on the board. In a filing with the Nigerian Exchange (NGX), the company said Green had informed the board of his decision to step down, with members expressing appreciation for his leadership and contribution. Tsega Gebreyes will succeed him as Senior Independent Non-Executive Director. The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA, in collaboration with the US DEA and UK NCA, has begun probing a $235 million cocaine seizure at Lagos’ Tincan Island Port. The 1,000-kilogram consignment is among the biggest drug hauls ever recorded in Nigeria. The NDLEA confirmed that the cocaine was discovered after terminal operators at PTML Terminal noticed suspicious packages inside an empty container and alerted port authorities.
