A Nigerian employer has recounted how the husband of her employee contacted her, demanding that his wife be dismissed from her job because he believed her salary was making her disrespectful.

She shared the story in a post on X (formerly Twitter).

According to the employer, the woman works as her housekeeper and has four children with the man, who is currently unemployed. She also noted that the couple is not legally married.

The employer’s post reads: “My housekeeper’s husband called tonight to request that I fire her (his wife) because ‘the money don make am get pride because I no get work. If you no sack am, I go sack her. She know where I from, I go bring am down.”
