Niger Delta activist and chairman of Tantita Security Services Nigeria Limited, Chief Government Ekpemupolo, also known as Tompolo, has extended his condolences to the Clark-Fuludu Bekederemo family of Kiagbodo Town following the passing of Chief Edwin Kiagbodo Clark.

Tompolo emphasized that both the Niger Delta region and southern Nigeria have lost a prominent leader and a powerful voice. He also expressed his sympathy to the people of the South-South and Middle Belt regions, remembering Clark as a strong advocate for resource control and an Ijaw leader. Clark was also the coordinator of the Pan Niger Delta Forum (PANDEF).

In a statement released to our reporter, Tompolo said, “On behalf of my family, friends, and colleagues, I extend my deepest condolences to the family of High Chief Dr Edwin Kiagbodo Clark, OFR, CON, following his passing yesterday.

“I also convey my heartfelt sympathy to the people of the South-South Geopolitical Zone and to Nigeria at large for the loss of our esteemed father.”

Tompolo described the news of Clark’s death as a “rude shock,” noting that, despite his age, Clark had been full of energy and vitality. “It was unexpected,” he said. “Although he was elderly, he remained active, and hearing of his passing this morning was hard to believe.”

Tompolo emphasized that Nigeria had lost a “unique and potent voice” from the South-South, a leader whose influence was a divine gift. “His death has left a significant void in the nation’s leadership,” he remarked, highlighting Clark’s role as a champion of democracy and socio-economic progress.

“Senator Clark was a courageous, fearless, and unyielding figure who spoke truth to power. He gave a voice to the voiceless and served as a father to those without one. We will miss him dearly.”

Tompolo concluded by praying for the strength of the Clark family and the nation to endure this irreplaceable loss.
