Nigerian Afrobeats stars Davido, Rema and Omah Lay are among the headline acts announced for the seventh edition of Afro Nation Portugal, scheduled to hold in June 2027.

The organisers unveiled the first wave of performers on Wednesday, naming Davido, Rema and Congolese music star Fally Ipupa as the festival’s major headliners.

The three-day festival will take place from June 9 to 11, 2027, at Praia da Rocha beach in Portimão, Algarve, Portugal.

The latest line-up also reflects a strong Nigerian presence, with Omah Lay and Victony billed to perform on the main stage.

Other artistes announced in the first wave include Jamaican singers Shenseea and Valiant, Tanzanian star Rayvanny, Odeal, Bamby, Miimii KDS and South Gidi Experience.

Congolese-French singer GIMS has also been named as a special guest.

The festival’s main Lit Stage will feature Davido, Rema and Fally Ipupa as headliners, alongside GIMS, Omah Lay, Victony, Shenseea, Valiant, Rayvanny, Odeal, Bamby, Miimii KDS and South Gidi Experience.

The Piano People Stage, dedicated to amapiano, will feature Kabza De Small, TxC, Dlala Thukzin, 031Choppa, 2woBunnies, Benzo, Thatohatsi, Uncool MC, W4DE, Young Stunna and Zee Nxumalo.

The Afrotronic Stage will feature Caiiro, Djeff, Jamiie, Aniko and JNR SA.

Organisers are expected to unveil more performers as preparations for the 2027 festival continue.

Davido, Rema and Fally Ipupa are all returning performers at Afro Nation Portugal, with the organisers describing them as “three giants of African music”.

The 2027 edition will open with a party on June 8, ahead of the main three-day event from June 9 to 11. A closing party is scheduled for June 12.

    Strong Nigerian presence

Nigerian artistes have maintained a prominent presence at Afro Nation Portugal since the festival was launched in Portimão in 2019.

Burna Boy featured among the major acts at the inaugural edition and has returned for subsequent editions, including 2022, 2023, 2025 and 2026.

Davido has also been a regular performer at the festival, appearing in 2019, 2022, 2023 and 2025 before his return as a headliner in 2027.

Wizkid has featured at the festival in 2019, 2022, 2023 and 2026, while Asake headlined the 2024 and 2026 editions.

Rema was a headline act at the 2024 festival, while Tems topped the bill in 2025.

Other Nigerian artistes who have performed at different editions include Omah Lay, Olamide, Tiwa Savage, Ayra Starr, Fireboy DML, Adekunle Gold, Wande Coal, Young Jonn, Darkoo, Victony, Qing Madi, Shallipopi and P-Square.

The latest announcement continues the festival’s long-running Nigerian representation, with Davido and Rema leading the 2027 bill and Omah Lay and Victony joining the main-stage line-up.

    About Afro Nation Portugal

Afro Nation Portugal was launched in Portimão in 2019 and has developed into an international festival centred on Afrobeats, amapiano and African music and culture.

The 2027 edition is scheduled for June, earlier than several recent editions that were held in July.

The festival is restricted to people aged 18 and above, with attendees required to present valid identification.

More artistes and details about the 2027 event are expected to be announced in the coming months.
