A tragic incident has occurred in the Agbarho community, Ughelli North Local Government Area of Delta State, where a man identified as Emem allegedly raped and murdered his mother.
The suspect, reportedly exhibiting signs of mental instability, fled the scene after the incident, which happened around 10:00 p.m. on Thursday at Eferemor Street, near Ovie House.
Sources said the victim’s younger son, who had just returned home, found their mother’s lifeless body in a pool of blood. She was reportedly found naked, with evidence suggesting sexual assault before her death.
Community members revealed that the suspect had previously shown disturbing behavior, including a past incident in which he allegedly attempted to lure his mother into a sexual encounter.
Police have evacuated the body and deposited it at a morgue in Agbarho. As of the time of this report, the suspect has not been apprehended.
Attempts to contact Delta State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Bright Edafe, for comments were unsuccessful.
