Nigerian TikToker and streamer, Habeeb Hamzat, popularly known as Peller, has opened up about his four-day stay in police custody, claiming he neither ate nor bathed throughout most of the period.

The 21-year-old content creator was arrested on Friday in the Lekki area of Lagos after a confrontation with police officers over a tinted vehicle allegedly without a number plate.

Speaking after his release, Peller shared his experience in a series of posts on his Snapchat account, describing the detention as the most difficult ordeal he had ever faced.

“I am ugly now, I can’t show my face yet. Omo, I slept in a cell for almost four days. It has never happened to me before in my life,” he wrote.

He said fellow inmates recognised him and jokingly referred to him as “001” while he was in custody.

Peller also alleged that he went without food, water, and a bath for most of the four days he spent in detention.

“I no chop for four good days, I no bath,” he said.

Reflecting on the experience, the social media personality said the incident had made him more cautious, adding that his focus was now on staying out of trouble as he looked forward to his wedding.

“Nah my wedding dey my mind. Nah to dey waka jeje after wedding japa,” he added.

A video that surfaced online shortly after his arrest showed Peller accusing the officers of harassment. He alleged that they pulled his shirt, pointed a gun at his head, and forcefully took him into custody. He also maintained that he had only recently purchased the vehicle involved.

Peller was arraigned on Tuesday alongside Bello Oladipo on a three-count charge bordering on conspiracy to commit a felony, obstruction of police officers, and conduct likely to cause a breach of public peace.

A Lagos Magistrates’ Court subsequently granted him bail in the sum of N500,000, bringing his four-day detention to an end.
