Residents of Ogoda community in Ahoada West Local Government Area of Rivers State have been thrown into panic following the discovery of the decomposing body of an unidentified young woman in a stream.
The remains were found floating in the stream on Sunday afternoon by security personnel and community members, who were later joined by the Chairman of Ahoada West Local Government Area, Eugene Epelle.
The circumstances surrounding the woman’s death remain unclear, although community leaders alleged that she was abducted, killed and dumped in the stream after some of her body parts were removed.
The Paramount Ruler of Ogoda, Chief Tom Obutu, said the discovery had created fear among residents, particularly following allegations that the deceased was taken from neighbouring Ahoada East.
