The Nigeria Democratic Congress has zoned its presidential ticket for the 2027 general election to Southern Nigeria for a single four-year term. The decision was reached at the maiden national convention of the party, where delegates unanimously adopted the motion during proceedings. Fresh tragedy has struck Plateau State following a deadly attack by suspected gunmen on the Ngbra Zongo community in Kwall District of Bassa Local Government Area, where no fewer than 13 persons were reportedly killed in the early hours of Friday.
