The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) in Ogun State has confirmed the death of three persons and injuries to seven others following a multiple-vehicle accident along the Abeokuta–Sagamu Road.
The crash, which occurred at the Onipepeye axis in Obafemi Owode Local Government Area, involved a Sino truck and an Opel passenger car, according to the FRSC.
In a statement issued in Abeokuta, the state capital, the Superintendent Route Commander, Odunsin Afolabi, said the accident happened at about 5:40 p.m. on Saturday.
He noted that preliminary investigations pointed to speed violations and loss of control as the likely causes of the fatal collision.
Afolabi added that the injured victims were promptly taken to the State Hospital, Ijaye, for treatment, while the bodies of the deceased were deposited at the hospital’s mortuary.
The State Sector Commander, Oludare Ogunjobi, urged motorists to adhere to speed limits and ensure their vehicles are in good condition to prevent avoidable road crashes.
