The Jigawa State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has launched an investigation into the gruesome murder of a three-year-old girl in Kiyawa Local Government Area of the state.
This was contained in a statement issued on Thursday in Dutse by the command’s spokesperson, ASC Badaruddeen Tijjani.
According to the statement, the victim, a resident of Sabon Gari in Kiyawa, was declared missing by her parents on Tuesday, October 14, 2025, around 11 a.m. Tragically, her lifeless body was discovered the following day in a nearby bush with multiple injuries.
“Upon receiving the report, operatives of the NSCDC in Kiyawa swiftly mobilised to the scene and evacuated the body to the hospital for medical examination and further investigation,” Tijjani said.
He disclosed that medical findings confirmed the girl had been raped, molested, and murdered by yet-to-be-identified persons.
“The command condemns this inhuman and ungodly act in the strongest terms,” he added.
The State Commandant, Mr. Muhammad Kabiru, has ordered the Intelligence and Investigation Department to work with the Kiyawa Divisional Office and other security agencies to ensure that those behind the heinous crime are apprehended and prosecuted.
Tijjani further stated that the remains of the deceased have been released to her family for burial.
He reaffirmed the command’s commitment to safeguarding lives and property, particularly the safety of children and other vulnerable persons. The NSCDC also urged residents to remain vigilant and promptly report any suspicious movements or individuals to the nearest security formation.
