A woman identified as Modupe Alasin has reportedly died following a brutal beating by her husband in Efon Alaaye, Ekiti State. The incident allegedly occurred after a dispute over her lateness to the farm.
According to an eyewitness who requested anonymity, the woman was heard crying and pleading as her husband repeatedly flogged her.
Shortly afterward, the man allegedly instructed her to fetch water from a nearby stream. She reportedly collapsed and died at the stream, apparently due to exhaustion and injuries sustained.
Confirming the incident, the Public Relations Officer of the Ekiti State Police Command, SP Sunday Abutu, stated that the suspect has been arrested and an investigation is ongoing.
