President Bola Tinubu on Tuesday emerged as the first aspirant to obtain a presidential nomination form from the All Progressives Congress (APC) as the party commenced the sale of expression of interest and nomination forms ahead of the 2027 general election.
Tinubu, represented by Ikeja Federal Constituency lawmaker, James Faleke, paid the stipulated N100 million to secure the form within hours of the process opening.
The nomination form was formally presented to Faleke by the APC National Organising Secretary, Sulaiman Argungu, at the party’s national secretariat.
The ruling party had fixed the cost of its presidential nomination form at N100 million, a decision that had already sparked criticism from civil society organisations prior to the commencement of sales.
As of the time of filing this report, no other aspirant had obtained the form.
