Entrepreneur and socialite, Pascal Okechukwu, popularly known as Cubana Chief Priest, has reaffirmed his loyalty to the All Progressives Congress and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu following the party’s House of Representatives primary election for the Orsu/Orlu/Oru East Federal Constituency in Imo State.

Cubana Chief Priest, who had earlier expressed interest in contesting for the APC ticket ahead of the 2027 general elections, made his position known in a series of posts shared on his official Instagram page on Sunday, where he pledged continued support for President Tinubu’s re-election bid and the administration’s Renewed Hope agenda.

According to him, his commitment to the president’s second-term ambition remains “absolute and unwavering,” adding that he would continue to champion advocacy and mobilisation efforts in support of the administration.

He also reaffirmed his loyalty to the ruling party, declaring that the APC remains his political home and that his support for the Asiwaju mandate remains firm and unapologetic.

The celebrity businessman disclosed that he did not participate in the party’s primary election after consultations with Hope Uzodimma and other party leaders in the state.

According to him, Governor Uzodimma explained that the party had adopted a zoning arrangement that would allow Orlu Local Government Area to retain the House of Representatives seat for at least two terms before it rotates to another local government.

Cubana Chief Priest said the governor further reminded him that it was not yet the turn of his local government to produce the lawmaker, especially considering that his elder brother, Jerry Alagboso, had previously represented the constituency for three terms.

He said he respected the party’s position and, in deference to its leadership, chose not to proceed with the contest, insisting that he never took part in the electioneering process or appeared at the primary venue, as he returned to Lagos instead.

Cubana Chief Priest added that his political ambition was inspired by his belief that the constituency deserved stronger representation, but noted that he placed party unity above personal ambition.

He also dismissed reports claiming that he contested in the primary and secured only 14 votes, describing such reports as false, misleading, and a product of social media propaganda.

Despite stepping aside, the socialite said he has no regrets about declaring his ambition, noting that the process helped raise political consciousness and engagement across the constituency.

Following the development, Seyi Tinubu reportedly sent him a message of encouragement, urging him to remain focused and optimistic about future political opportunities.

Cubana Chief Priest is a known supporter of the Tinubu administration and currently serves as the Imo State coordinator of the City Boy Movement, a political support group backing the president.
