A minor tsunami has hit Nigeria’s Federal Executive Council, as President Bola Ahmed Tinubu lays off the Ministers of Education, House and Development (State) and Youth, Tahir Mamman SAN, OON; Abdullahi Tijjani, and Jamila Bio Ibrahim respectively.
Others affected are Uju Kennedy Ohanenye, and Lola Ade-John of Women’s Affairs and Tourism in that other.
President Tinubu, in the list released by the Presidency on Wednesday afternoon, saw the appointment of seven (7) new ministers, including for the recently created Ministry of Livestock, which is headed by Idi Mukhta Maiha and, notably Bianca Ojukwu, the widow of Late Biafra activist, DIm Odumegwu Chukwuemeka Ojukwu, who becomes Minister of State, Foreign Affairs

Others are Muhammadu Maigari Dingyadi, who takes over as Minister of Labour and Employment; Dr Jumoke Oduwole, Minister of Trade and Investment, Yusuf Abdullahi Ata, Minister of State, Housing and Urban Development and Suwaiba Said Ahmad, PhD, Minister of State, Education
Ten ministers were also reassigned in the new development, with Minister of State, Education, Dr Yusuf Tanko, now Minister of State Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Reduction, Dr Morufu Alausa, Minister of State for Health is elevated to substantive Minister of Education.
Bello Muhammed Goronyo, who was Minister of State, Water Resources and Sanitation is taking over as Minister of State, Works and Hon Abubakar Momoh, Minister of Niger Delta reassigned as Minister of Regional Development.
Uba Ahamdu, Dr Doris Uzoka-Anite, Sen John Owan Enoh and Imaan Sulaiman-Ibrahim, Minister of Steels Development (State), Minister of Industry, Trade and Investment and Sports Development respectively now moved to Minister of State Regional Development, Minister of State Finance and Minister of State Trade and Investment Industry respectively.
Also, Ayodele Olawande was elevated from Minister of State Youth and Development to substantive Minister of Youth Development, and Dr Salako Adeboye became Minister of State Health from Minister of State Environment.
