Arsenal moved a step closer to winning the Premier League title after securing a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Burnley at the Emirates Stadium.

A first-half header from Kai Havertz proved decisive as the Gunners extended their lead at the top of the table to five points ahead of Manchester City, who still have a game in hand against AFC Bournemouth on Tuesday.

Arsenal dominated much of the first half and nearly opened the scoring earlier through Leandro Trossard, whose long-range strike hit the post.

The breakthrough came in the 37th minute when Bukayo Saka delivered a corner into the box and Havertz rose highest to head home the winner.

The German midfielder later escaped a red card after a reckless tackle on Lesley Ugochukwu in the second half. Although VAR reviewed the incident, the referee’s decision to issue only a yellow card stood.

Burnley pushed for an equaliser late in the game, but Arsenal held firm to secure another crucial win in the title race.

The victory leaves Mikel Arteta’s side needing just one more win to clinch the Premier League trophy and end their 22-year wait for the title.
