Paul Adefarasin, Senior Pastor of House on the Rock Church, has responded to a viral video that falsely accuses him of brandishing a firearm, calling the claims both painful and malicious, and attributing them to “clickbaiters just looking for money.”
In a sermon streamed live on the church’s YouTube channel on Sunday, Adefarasin expressed deep distress over the allegation and the public reaction it sparked.
“I was wrongly accused of pointing a firearm at an aggressive content creator who invaded my personal space,” he said. “I do not possess a firearm license, I do not carry a gun, and I did not point a weapon at anyone.”
He clarified that the incident occurred on a Saturday, a day he observes as his Sabbath. “It happened on a Sabbath. I believe in keeping the Sabbath principle,” he added.
Pastor Adefarasin emphasized that his ministry would not be drawn into online controversies or false narratives. “We choose not to dignify hate speech or baseless accusations. Our faith is that God is greater than all of this.”
He cited Romans 12:19, saying, “Vengeance is mine, I will repay, says the Lord,” and reflected on the emotional impact of the incident. “God understands our pain and provides comfort. What the enemy intends for harm, God can turn for good.”
He concluded his remarks with finality: “With that, I will put the matter to rest.”
