The Ugbokodo-Okpe community, Delta State, has been thrown into mourning after a man named Paul, also known as “Papa Jeffrey,” allegedly stabbed his younger brother, Saturday, to death over a dispute involving his wife’s missing N2,000.
The confrontation started when Paul’s wife accused Saturday of stealing, an allegation he denied. Tensions rose when she grabbed his shirt, prompting Saturday to slap her.
In response, Paul returned home and, with his son’s help, set out to find his brother.
Upon finding Saturday at the Waterside part of the community, Paul allegedly stabbed him multiple times, leading to his death.
The community reacted violently upon learning of the incident, attacking Paul before he was rescued by security agents.
In retaliation, the youths set Paul’s residence and his wife’s provision store ablaze.
The Public Relations Officer of the State Police Command, SP Bright Edafe, confirmed the incident, verifying the details of the case, and arrest of the suspect.
