    By Hon. Johnbull Cleopas,

Kestin Ebimobowei Pondi, born in the Gbaramatu and Ogulagha Kingdoms of Delta State, is a philanthropist whose unwavering goal has always been to touch lives and alleviate the suffering of people, regardless of their tribe, background, or religion. As the Managing Director of Tantita Security Services Nigeria Ltd, a company entrusted with safeguarding oil pipelines and installations in the Niger Delta and beyond, Kestin’s leadership extends far beyond his professional responsibilities. He is deeply admired and respected, not just in the Niger Delta, but across the country.

A Man of Compassion and Service

Despite never having held any elected or public office, Kestin has consistently demonstrated his love for his community by reaching out to those in need. He has alleviated the suffering of countless individuals in areas such as healthcare, education, youth empowerment, and human capital development.

Kestin’s compassion is most evident in his regular medical outreaches, where individuals suffering from various medical conditions are provided care. He ensures that those in need receive treatment at state-of-the-art hospitals in cities such as Warri, Lagos, Abuja, and Ibadan—and in cases where local solutions are not enough, patients are flown abroad at his own expense for further treatment.

In education, Kestin has made significant contributions to the development of countless individuals, regardless of their tribe or religion. His support has advanced government initiatives to address out-of-school children and has eased the burden on public resources. His contributions range from offering scholarships and bursaries to paying school fees for the less fortunate and funding the education of disadvantaged students.

Kestin is also passionate about youth development. He serves as a mentor, role model, and patron to various youth organizations across the Niger Delta and beyond. His commitment to the growth and empowerment of young people is reflected in the many youth employed within his business ventures. His philosophy of human empowerment knows no limits, earning him the nickname “The Empowerment Machine.” No one who encounters him leaves without a positive story to tell.

A True Family Man and Humble Leader

Beyond his professional and philanthropic accomplishments, Kestin is a devoted family man—an affectionate husband and father. He embodies humility, kindness, and accessibility. No matter one’s social status or age, Kestin is always approachable. His genuine belief in the equality of all people, coupled with his deep compassion for the suffering of others, sets him apart as a man who truly understands the human condition.

Kestin’s inclusive nature transcends boundaries. He mingles with people from all walks of life, attending events and celebrating with individuals regardless of their status or the occasion. His desire is simple: to put a smile on the faces of others and bring joy to their lives. In doing so, he has worked to bridge the divide between the wealthy and the less fortunate, making what was once reserved for the elite accessible to all.

It is no surprise that Kestin was honoured with the title of “Ibe-Benemowei” of Gbaramatu Kingdom, which means “the one who brings everyone together.” This title is a testament to his role as a unifier, someone who brings people together despite their differences. Kestin is a true rallying point for the Ijaw Nation and beyond. His deep understanding of culture and tradition, combined with his intelligence, wisdom, leadership acumen, and charisma, makes him a remarkable figure.

    A Lasting Legacy

Kestin Pondi’s dedication to philanthropy is truly unparalleled. His selflessness and generosity have left an indelible mark on countless lives. As a fitting tribute to his legacy, it is my humble suggestion that we establish the “Kestin Pondi Foundation” to ensure that his spirit of giving continues to inspire and uplift others for generations to come.

Kestin Pondi is the true embodiment of philanthropy.
