There is growing anger among Nigerians over a viral video allegedly of one Sgt Abraham Uzuobor, a police officer raping a 17-year-old girl detained at an unnamed police station in Edo State.
There are concerns that the incident could lead to another wild anti-police protest ahead of the 3rd Anniversary of the #ENDSARS protest if relevant authorities fail to assuage public anger by investigating and bringing the officer to book
The video, which was made by a fellow officer, caught the fair-skin police officer who was pants down, getting off the victim, who seemed to have fainted from the ordeal.

Reports later said the victim passed out after the randy officer raped her several times.
The viral video showed the naked Uzuobor rushing to wear his parts, and asking his colleague to stop the camera.
In the 15-second video, the unidentified female officer could be heard telling Officer Uzuobor, “Why I nor go do am (make a video)? Na you wan put me for trouble.”
Amidst trying to get his pants back on, the alleged rapist tried to stop his colleague from recording the ugly scene, while asking her, “Which trouble?” in response to the complaint that he was going to put the female officer, who is believed to be the investigating officer in charge of the victim’s case.
Meanwhile, Nigerians have expressed anger that the police authorities are yet to respond to the incident many days after the video went viral
“A Nigerian police officer, Sergeant Abraham Uzuobor, F/No. 504694, kidnapped a 17-year-old girl held for unknown reasons in a police station in Edo state and brutally raped her in the admin office until she lost consciousness,” an X (former Twitter) used posted.
Another lamented that the incident occurred barely days before the Second Anniversary of the #EndSARS protest on 22 October 2022, which led to the loss of many lives and multibillion naira in damages to businesses and properties across Nigeria.
“This is happening a few days to the #EndSARS memorial. The IGP has yet to say a word. The President is yet to say a word and the CP is yet to say a word,” another X user said.
