Troops under Operation Hadin Kai have arrested three individuals suspected of providing logistical support to Boko Haram/ISWAP insurgents in Borno State.
Security sources disclosed that the suspects were apprehended on April 13 in the Abari general area of Monguno Local Government Area during an operation conducted by personnel of the Sector 3 Military Intelligence Brigade in collaboration with members of the Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF).
The suspects were identified as Falmata Abukar, 43; Halima Audu, 35; and Mairo Abba, 17. They were reportedly intercepted while attempting to move from Abari to Mararaba village in Kukawa.
Items recovered from them include 12 pairs of materials believed to be used for making terrorist uniforms, 176 bottles of herbicide, 22 wrappers, 24 assorted children’s clothes, a mosquito net, a mat, and a cash sum of N15,500.
According to security sources, the items are suspected to be logistical supplies meant for insurgent groups operating around the Lake Chad region.
The suspects are currently in military custody undergoing preliminary interrogation to determine the extent of their involvement and possible links to terrorist networks.
