Operatives of the Lagos State Police Command have arrested a 30-year-old man, Dare Shogaolu, popularly known as “Super M”, and recovered a locally made pistol during a routine stop-and-search operation in the Mushin area of the state.

The development was disclosed in a statement issued on Thursday by the Police Public Relations Officer of the command, Abimbola Adebisi.

According to the statement, the suspect was apprehended on March 5, 2026, at about 10:00 p.m. by operatives of the Anti-Crime Patrol Team attached to the Mushin Division while on routine patrol along the LUTH Road axis in Mushin.

Adebisi said the patrol team, led by the Divisional Police Officer, stopped the suspect after noticing that he was carrying a white and orange-yellow polythene bag and behaving suspiciously.

She explained that a search conducted on the bag led to the recovery of one locally made pistol.

Other items reportedly found in the suspect’s possession included a black leather purse, charms, and three pairs of slippers.

According to the police spokesperson, preliminary investigation indicated that the suspect had allegedly been involved in several criminal activities within the area and was believed to have been responsible for disturbances in the community.

Adebisi added that the suspect is currently in police custody while investigations continue, noting that efforts are ongoing to track down and apprehend other members of his alleged criminal group.

Meanwhile, the Commissioner of Police in the state, Olohundare Jimoh, reiterated the command’s commitment to proactive policing and ensuring the safety of residents across the state.

He urged members of the public to support the police by providing credible and timely information through the command’s emergency lines.
