Police in Ondo State have arrested a man, Oyewole Adamolekun, for allegedly engaging in an incestuous relationship with his 15-year-old biological daughter, which led to her pregnancy.

Adamolekun, who resides in Taye Village, Lafa 2, Ajue area, was accused of repeatedly abusing his daughter since she was three years old. The case came to light after a concerned neighbour reported the matter to the Enu-Owa Divisional Police Headquarters, Ondo.

Police operatives swiftly apprehended the suspect, while the victim was taken to a medical facility where an ultrasound confirmed that she was more than 19 weeks pregnant. A police source said the suspect voluntarily confessed to the crime during interrogation.

Confirming the incident, the spokesperson for the state police command, SP Ayanlade Olayinka, said the suspect is in custody and the case has been transferred to the Command’s Gender Unit for thorough investigation and prosecution.

According to Olayinka, the victim alleged that Lamidi had been sexually abusing her and administering drugs when he discovered she was pregnant. She is currently receiving treatment at the State Specialist Hospital, Igbatoro, while the suspect remains in custody.
