President Bola Tinubu has approved automatic employment for the four children of the late Head of the Civil Service of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Dr. Grace Adayilo.

The Minister of the FCT, Nyesom Wike, announced the gesture on Saturday during Adayilo’s funeral service at the National Ecumenical Centre, Abuja. The event was attended by top government officials, civil servants, family members, and friends, who gathered to pay their last respects.

Wike described Adayilo’s death as a painful loss, noting that she was a humble, committed, and diligent public servant whose contributions to the FCT Administration would be greatly missed.

“On behalf of the FCT Administration and on behalf of Mr. President, I want to send our condolences to her family. Mr. President has directed me to give the four children automatic employment because he understands that now there is no breadwinner for them,” Wike said.

The minister commended Adayilo’s dedication to duty, recalling her role in ensuring timely payment of salaries and entitlements to civil servants, as well as her reputation as a respected community mobilizer.

He urged Nigerians to emulate her devotion to service, stressing that life is unpredictable and should be lived in service to God and humanity.

Until her death, Dr. Adayilo served as FCT Head of Service. She was remembered by colleagues and loved ones as a selfless leader, a mother figure, and an inspiration both in public service and within her community.
