A devastating accident occurred on Wednesday evening at the Four Corner junction along the Enugu–Port Harcourt Expressway, where a truck, reportedly belonging to the Dangote Group, crushed a private vehicle, killing four members of the same family.
Eyewitnesses described the scene as chaotic, with bystanders watching in shock and grief as emergency responders retrieved the lifeless bodies from the wreckage. The incident triggered panic in the area and brought traffic to a standstill, causing long delays on the busy highway.
Security personnel and emergency services eventually arrived to restore order and carry out rescue operations.
As of the time of this report, the Enugu State Police Command and the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) have not issued official statements regarding the cause of the accident.
A video circulating on social media shows distraught residents mourning the victims and voicing outrage over the frequency of fatal accidents involving heavy-duty trucks along the expressway.
