A final-year student of Ambrose Alli University (AAU), Ekpoma, identified only as Blessing, has been found dead five days after she was declared missing.
Blessing, a student in the Department of Microbiology, was last seen on Sunday. She was reported absent from a scheduled examination on Monday, raising concerns about her whereabouts.
According to sources, suspicious messages were later sent from her phone, indicating she may have been kidnapped and a ransom was demanded.
However, in a tragic turn of events, police officers discovered her decomposing body within the premises of her residence.
The spokesperson for the Edo State Police Command, Moses Yamu, confirmed the incident and said an investigation is currently underway.
