Former Minister of Transportation and South-South leader of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Rt. Hon. Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi, has declared his intention to oppose President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s bid for a second term in the 2027 general elections.
Addressing a large gathering of supporters at the Port Harcourt International Airport on Wednesday, Amaechi voiced strong disapproval of the current administration, attributing the country’s deepening economic hardship to President Tinubu’s leadership.
“I’m fed up with this government,” Amaechi said.
“If a wealthy man is paying N4 million for electricity, only God knows how ordinary Nigerians are managing to survive.”
He called on residents of Rivers State to join the ADC, emphasizing the need to combat electoral fraud and restore democratic integrity in the state.
“We must put an end to result manipulation in Rivers. Go and register with the ADC so we can reclaim our political future,” he urged.
