Controversial activist Martins Otse, known as VeryDarkMan (VDM), has alleged that over N180 million was stolen from his NGO’s account after it was hacked.

Recall that Otse launched the Martins Vincent Osei Initiative in October, raising over N35 million in donations within hours.

Shortly after, he announced that he had received an N100 million contribution from music producer Michael Collins Ajereh, popularly known as Don Jazzy.

In a video shared on Instagram on Friday, the activist revealed that the funds were diverted into an unknown account.

“Honestly, I’ve not been myself for the past few days,” Otse said.

“Somebody hacked into the NGO website, and N180 million is missing. Thankfully, we’ve tracked the person, and one suspect has been arrested.

“The account is now on PND (Post No Debit). There’s N20 million left, while N160 million was diverted. We’re heading to Jos to recover the money.”

Otse further explained that he had to shut down the NGO’s app for maintenance to prevent further breaches and promised to provide updates on the situation.

However, social media users have questioned the credibility of Otse’s explanation.

A user, @olamideofficial queried, “VeryDarkMan said 180 million naira is missing because his NGO website was hacked. Is the money on the website or in his bank account? Someone should enlighten us, abeg.”

@Itzbasito said, “VeryDarkMan said N180m is missing from the N200m donation for his NGO. See scope o, like say we be primary school students.”

@Hybrid_Ola added, “VeryDarkMan said 180 million naira is missing from his NGO account. He made a video with a police officer saying the NGO account was hacked and they are trying to track the hackers. At least this is better than saying a snake swallowed the money.”

@lil_maamiiii“If it were someone else sharing this VeryDarkMan story, by now he would have set his ring light, with his dirty sachet water and black singlet analyzing God knows what. Lmaooo.”

@Pweshiouz13 stated, “It would have been better if VeryDarkMan told us a snake swallowed the money than this story he is telling us. N180M just disappeared like that as a result of so-called hackers?”

@BRILLIANT_ARIN also expressed doubt: “VeryDarkMan said they hacked and stole 180m from his NGO website lmao. That’s a familiar method: set camera and blow up then begin to use foolish scope for the fools who are their stan/audience.”

@victor_onyibest stated, “Una don finally see opportunity wey una go take drag VeryDarkMan. Even people wey no contribute 1 naira dey ask for explanation.”
