The top echelon of the Nigerian Armed Forces and the office of the National Security Adviser, ONSA, have been thrown into panic following the seizure of a huge haul of high-calibre illegal weapons and ammunition in Lagos.
Naija Daily News learnt that the huge cache of arms intercepted by men of the Nigeria Customs Service (NSC) sparked frenzied activity among the military’s top echelon.
Although the number of weapons in the haul has yet to be known, sources told our reporter that it is one of the largest interceptions by the NCS in recent times
The Comptroller-General of Customs, Adewale Adeniyi, is already in Lagos to address journalists at the Federal Operation Unit (FOU) Zone “A”, Ikeja, Lagos.
“The sheer volume and grade of the weapons are disturbing and this is why the military top shots and government are unsettled,” one source said.
