The decomposing remains of Hon. Justice Azuka, a member representing Onitsha North I constituency of Anambra State have been found.
Azuka was kidnapped by gunmen on Christmas Eve in Onitsha and has now been found dead.
His decomposed body was discovered near the second Niger Bridge in Onitsha on Wednesday night by a security team sent from Abuja, who have arrested some suspects believed to be involved in the kidnapping.
Azuka was abducted while on his way to celebrate Christmas with his family.
Anambra Police Public Relations Officer, Tochukwu Ikenga, who confirmed the discovery of the body, did not confirm any arrests.
He stated that an investigation is ongoing and that security personnel have secured the area.
Two other victims who were kidnapped along with Hon Azuka, Ben Ezemma (aka Big Ben) and Obiora Agbasimelo, the Labour Party’s 2021 governorship candidate, are still missing.
