The Delta State Police Command have arrested one suspect for allegedly raping a thirteen year old girl overnight in Ugbomoro Community, Uvwie Local Government Area of Delta State as three other suspects escaped from the scene.
The incident reportedly occurred on January 24, 2025.
It was learnt that the young girl was on an errand for her parents when the suspect and three others who had already taken sexual enhancement drugs called and deceived her into their apartment and forcefully had carnal knowledge of her till dawn.
The young girl’s family, who had searched for her the whole night, reportedly found her after she was released by the suspect.
When contacted for comments, the Delta State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Bright Edafe confirmed the report in a telephone chat.
Edafe said the police had already arrested one of the suspects while three are on the run.
He said, “confirmed. I don’t have the name yet”
He said efforts to arrest the fleeing suspects is ongoing.
