A bomb explosion that occurred in the Bassa community, Shiroro Local Government Area of Niger State, has claimed the life of one person, leaving four others with different degrees of injuries.
The incident reportedly occurred on Thursday morning as the victims were on their way to their farms.
Ahmed Almustapha, a resident of the community, revealed that three of the victims lost their legs in the blast and are currently receiving treatment at the IBB Specialist Hospital.
Al-Mustapha, who is related to three of the victims, stated that this is the second bomb explosion to occur in Bassa this month.
He recalled that a similar incident occurred two weeks ago, claiming one life as the victim was on his way to the farm.
Almustapha called on the Niger State Government and the federal government to provide assistance and support to enable them to return to their farms and resume their livelihoods.
All efforts to reach the Niger State Police Command at the time of filing this report proved abortive.
