
A building collapse in Ibadan, the capital of Oyo State, early Thursday morning has led to the death of 10 people.
Seven others were injured in the incident, which happened at 2 a.m. in the Jegeda Oluloyo area of Ona Ara Local Government Area.
The Oyo State Fire Services confirmed the incident and reported ongoing rescue operations.
They said, “We received a distress call around 2 a.m. this morning from the Jegede Olunloyo area in Ibadan. Ten people have been found in the debris of the collapsed building, and seven people were rescued alive. Rescue operations are continuing.”
Yemi Akinyinka, the General Manager of the state Fire Services, said, “We received a distress call from the neighbours at 2 a.m.
“When we arrived, ten people had already died. Three were found before we arrived, and our team recovered four more. They are still working.”
