A 16-year-old boy, simply identified as Noble, in Kolukuma, Borokiri in Port Harcourt, Rivers State has absconded after allegedly molesting a nine-year-old ward of his parents’ neighbour in the area.
Sources in the Borokiri suburb of the city told our report that the innocent victim, identified as (Elizabeth (surname withheld) had been serially abused by the suspect, who has now fled.
“The situation came to light when Elizabeth’s aunt noticed an unusual discharge and a foul smell coming from Elizabeth’s private area.
“Upon questioning, Elizabeth revealed that the molestation had been ongoing for some time,” our source in the area revealed.
It was further gathered that when the now on-the-run Noble was interrogated, he admitted to having canal knowledge of the young Elizabeth.
“Elizabeth’s aunt confronted Noble’s parents about the incident and threatened to involve the police, but they pleaded for leniency and promised to take full responsibility for Elizabeth’s treatment and care.
However, when Elizabeth’s aunt returned with the police on the morning of September 29th, 2024, they found neither the suspect nor his parents at home. They vowed to return and ensure that justice was fully served.
Our investigations revealed that incidents of abuse of underage girls are rampart in the Borokiri area of the city.
“It is quite common, and they are mostly not reported to the police; even when reports are laid the cases are usually investigated to its logical conclusion or they suspects are mostly get off the hook with a last on their wrists
Efforts are still being made to get the reaction of Rivers Police Command on the matter at the time of this report.
