Former US President and Republican Presidential Candidate in November election, Donald Trump has urged Israel to attack Iran’s nuclear sites in retaliation for Tuesday’s barrage of missile strike on Israel by the Arab country.

Speaking on Friday at a campaign in North Carolina, Trump urged Israel Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to “hit the nuclear first and worry about the rest later”.

Trump faulted President Joe Biden’s call on Israel to act with restraint and not hit Iran’s nuclear sites, saying, “I think he (Biden) got it wrong.

Iran hit Israel with nearly 200 missiles, which the Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Khamenei said to avenge the assassinations of Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah and Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh, a week earlier and in July, respectively.

Speaking on Israel’s possible attack, Trump said, “That’s the thing (nuclear sites) you want to hit right? I said I think he’s got that wrong, isn’t that the one you’re supposed to hit? It’s the biggest risk we have, nuclear weapons, the power of nuclear weapons. When they asked him that question the answer should have been, ‘Hit the nuclear first and worry about the rest later.'”

According to the U.N.’s nuclear watchdog Iran has uranium enriched to 60 percent purity, close to that required to make a nuclear bomb. Tehran insists its nuclear program is peaceful, but critics believe the country’s ultimate goal is to construct nuclear weapons.
