The African Action Congress(AAC) presidential candidate for the 2027 general election, Omoyele Sowore, has asked President Bola Tinubu to provide food, drinks, and other logistical support for 5,000 participants expected at the inauguration of its Presidential Campaign Council ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The party also requested approval to hold the ceremony at the Presidential Villa in Aso Rock, Abuja, on November 11, 2026.
The requests were contained in a letter dated October 21, 2026, and signed by the AAC National Secretary, Oshiokhue Philip Ikpeminoghena.
In the letter addressed to Tinubu, the party said participants would arrive from different parts of Nigeria and abroad, requiring adequate arrangements for their accommodation and welfare during the event.
The AAC said its request was consistent with arrangements reportedly extended to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) for a similar political engagement.
It argued that approving the requests would demonstrate the Federal Government’s commitment to multiparty democracy, political inclusiveness, and equal treatment of political parties.
The party added that public institutions should serve all Nigerians without partisan discrimination, regardless of their political affiliations.
It expressed hope for a favourable response and requested details of the procedures and conditions for securing the necessary approval.
As of the time of filing this report, the Presidency had not publicly confirmed approval of the requests.
