Zazzu crooner, Habeeb Okikiola Badmus (aka Portable) has said he beat up a Christian preacher in front of his lounge because he did not believe that his victim was a true man of God.

Portable has been involved in countless controversial incidents since he blew up the hit the Nigerian music scene with the Olumide Baddo collaborated Zazu hit track.

He was at it again when reports surfaced that he had physically abused a preacher in front of his bar in Lagos.

He said his family members have had close shaves with fraudsters who pretend to be men of God, saying such incidents had left him with stress disorder.

It would be recalled that the controversial singer famous for the Zazu Zeh and Tony Montana hits tracks was in the headlines recently for allegedly beating up a cleric who was preaching outside his bar.

The incident drew the ire of many Nigerian Christians and netizens, including gospel singer, Testimony Jaga, who handed a deadline for the singer to tender an apology or face dire consequences of his action.

Portable, n an Instagram post on Monday, September 16, Portable explained that his sister had recently been attacked by a man pretending to be a pastor, which left him deeply traumatised.

He further stated that the preacher behaved suspiciously, thereby causing him to believe he was another fraudster.

He said, “They wanted to set me up. He was not a man of God, and if he was a man of God, may God forgive me for slapping him. If I knew he was a real man of God, I wouldn’t have slapped him. The way he acted was why I slapped him, I’m a human being and I’m not perfect.”
