Nigerian-American actress and television host Osas Ighodaro has been cast in a leading role in the upcoming Nolly-Bollywood micro-drama series, Imported Bahu, marking another major milestone in her growing international career.
The project was officially unveiled on Monday by executive producer Hamisha Daryani Ahuja, who announced that Ighodaro will star alongside Bollywood actor and model Rajniesh Duggall in a cross-cultural romance that explores themes of love, family secrets, and identity.
Ahuja revealed the new production in an Instagram post, describing Imported Bahu as the first vertical micro-drama series from her production company, Forever 7 Entertainment.
“For months, we’ve been keeping a secret. Today, we’re finally sharing it,” she wrote. “Introducing Imported Bahu — Forever 7 Entertainment’s first vertical micro-drama series. A story of love, family, secrets, and one Imported Bahu who turns everything upside down.”
According to the producer, the series will premiere on July 2, 2026, exclusively on LebaraPlay, which is described as Africa’s first telecom-owned micro-drama platform.
The production is expected to further strengthen the growing collaboration between Nollywood and Bollywood, an area in which Ahuja has built a strong reputation through previous projects such as Namaste Wahala and Postcards. Industry observers say Imported Bahu continues her efforts to bridge African and Indian storytelling through culturally diverse narratives.
For Ighodaro, the role represents another significant step on the global entertainment stage. The actress, who is also a television presenter and former beauty queen, has earned widespread acclaim for her performances across film and television productions.
Ahead of the series’ debut, producers have released the official trailer, generating excitement among fans of both Nollywood and Bollywood and raising anticipation for what promises to be a unique fusion of two of the world’s most vibrant film industries.
