Award-winning Nigerian singer David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has announced the release of a new single titled I Know Who I Be, marking his return with fresh music after a period of limited solo releases.
The track, which features Jazzwrld and GL_Ceejay, is scheduled for release on June 26.
Davido announced on his X account on Monday, building anticipation among fans as he unveiled promotional images for the forthcoming project.
“The journey to the throne begins,” the Afrobeats star wrote, before confirming that “my next single, I Know Who I Be, ” will release June 26th.
The announcement has sparked excitement among music lovers, particularly after the singer disclosed in May that he intended to take a temporary break from making music.
Before the upcoming release, Davido’s last solo single was Be There Still, which was released in March 2025. More recently, he featured on Nakupenda, a song by South African music duo TxC.
The new single arrives shortly after the singer’s performance at the opening concert of the 2026 FIFA World Cup countdown series in Los Angeles, a showcase that further reinforced his growing international profile.
Since breaking into the spotlight with the hit song Dami Duro in 2012, Davido has established himself as one of Africa’s most influential music stars. He is also the founder of DMW, a record label that has nurtured several successful artists.
With acclaimed projects such as Omo Baba Olowo, A Good Time, A Better Time, and Timeless to his name, Davido remains a leading figure in the global Afrobeats movement.
